John S. Day

Attorney + Firm Founder

Day Law Firm, P.C. furnishes each of its clients with direct and personal attention from Attorney John S. Day, with assistance from the firm's support team as appropriate.

John began his legal career by obtaining large law firm experience in Washington, D.C. and Boston, and he subsequently established Day Law Firm, P.C. in 2003 so he could provide clients with more direct and personal representation. He is an experienced and highly-accomplished attorney whose practice is tightly focused on a single objective – successfully and decisively protecting his clients’ legal rights.

John has been providing general counsel services to Massachusetts businesses for more than 20 years. These services include contract negotiation and interpretation, business mergers and acquisitions, legal advice regarding employment and corporate governance issues, regulatory compliance activities, and representation during government investigations.

John also represents businesses in all aspects of dispute resolution, including mediation, arbitration, and trial practice. While John recognizes that many business disputes are best resolved by a favorable settlement prior to trial, he has the experience, expertise, and temperament to take a case to trial when doing so is in his client’s best interest. In fact, John has taken more than 100 cases to trial verdict in federal and state court and, in the process, he has developed a strong reputation throughout Massachusetts as a skilled and tenacious trial attorney who always comes to court with a well-planned strategy and sound tactical skills.

John received a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Richmond in 1988, and earned his law degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1996. He attended the University of Richmond on a full, four-year U.S. Army ROTC scholarship and, between college and law school, he served as an Army platoon leader and battalion primary staff officer with the Third Infantry Division in Kitzingen, Germany.
